Ultimate
Holiday Town USA - Arts and Entertainment Network - December 18, 2003.
Congratulations Leavenworth on being number 1!
"About Ultimate Holiday Town USA : Across America, tucked between mega-cities, are
thousands of small towns under 50,000 people. And Christmastime presents the perfect
opportunity for these proud Americans to bust out their holiday decorations, pool their
talent and strut their stuff on a scale that puts any sprawling metropolis to shame.
This two-hour A&E SPECIAL PRESENTATION: ULTIMATE HOLIDAY TOWN USA raises the roof with adrenaline and holiday fun in a cross-country competition for the national title of Ultimate Small Town Christmas. Small towns applied for a chance to create the ultimate small-town Christmas celebration and sent in photos and footage of past holiday decorations that were then judged by a panel of guests. Viewers see snippets of some of the funniest, most creative, most outlandish entries à la American Idol. From these applicants our panel selected the top finalists, who then had two weeks to rally round and work on their holiday decorations and displays or experiment with a completely new theme or design."
We track the colorful local participants as they put their heads together, enlist manpower, gather materials and race the clock. The final payoff unfolds as our panel of experts three witty, sharp-eyed decorators cast their votes. At the end of the show, we announce the winner." - Arts and Entertainment Network - December 18, 2003.
